BUSINESSREVIEW Construction TheGroup’sconstructionbusinessconsistsofprovisionofbuildingservicesasamaincontractorinpropertydevelopmentprojects,aswellasexistingbuildingalterations,renovationandfitting-outworksservicesforprominentlocaldevelopers,publicinstitutionsandtheGroup’scompanies.Asat30September2022,theGrouppossessedcontracts(inclusiveofexternalcustomersandtheGroup’scompanies)withanaggregatevalueofapproximately$2.71billion. Constructionrevenuederivedfromexternalcustomersforthesixmonthsended30September2022(“FH2022/23”)amountedto$29.7million,representingadecreaseof90.2%comparedtothatofthesixmonthsended30September2021(“FH2021/22”).ThesignificantdropwasprimarilyduetosubstantialdecreaseinrevenuerecognisedfromthecompletedconstructionprojectatKaiTakduringFH2022/23. DataCentrePremisesLeasing TheGroupcurrentlyownstwodatacentres,namelyiTechTower1andiTechTower2.Revenuefromitsleasingbusinessmaintainedahealthygrowth,andrecordedanincreaseof23.9%year-on-yearto$113.9million.Thiswasmainlydrivenbytheincreasingutilisationofdatacentrespacesbyexistingandnewcustomers. ThetwogreenfieldsitesatNo.3OnKuiStreetandNo.8OnChuenStreetinFanling,theNewTerritorieswillbedevelopedintotwonewhigh-tierdatacentresforleasingpurposeswithanestimatedgrossfloorareaofapproximately185,000squarefeetinaggregate.Theapplicationforchangeoflandusechangeofbothsitesbywayoflandexchangeareinprogressandthelandpremiumassessmentisexpectedtobefinalisedaroundtheendof2022. FoundationworkatNo.3OnKuiStreetisnowcompletedandtheprojectisscheduledforcompletioninmid-2025;whereasdemolitionworkoftheexistingstructureatNo.8OnChuenStreetistargetedtocommenceatthebeginningof2023,andthedevelopmentisscheduledtobecompletedinmid-2026.
