The 2021 Global Workplace Report highlights the emergence of a hybrid workforce, driven by data and employee needs. 79.1% of employees are at the forefront of workplace strategy, and 90.6% recognize the value of employee experience (EX) in organizational success. However, only 37.9% of employees are very satisfied with their current EX capability, and 72.7% agree that parts of the organization don't understand or embrace EX. Employee wellbeing and EX have become more important, but capabilities lag. Connectivity and communication are key priorities to enable agility and protect employee wellbeing. 72.0% of CEOs say strategies to modernize the workplace are defined, but only 47.2% of operations staff agree. 54.6% of organizations say employees have access to technology that fully enables performance when working from home, but 58.3% of employees say working from home is problematic. 61.4% of CEOs strongly agree they are aligned with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, supporting their ESG agenda. Employee safety, enabling hybrid and remote working, employee wellbeing, improved EX, and sustainability goals are all important factors in the current workplace environment.
