A Study on the State of Journalism in 2023 found that economic uncertainty has had a significant impact on journalists, with around two-thirds reporting that it has affected their work. The survey, conducted in January and February 2023, included 2,226 journalists from the US, Asia, Africa, and Europe. The results showed that journalists are more likely to respond to pitches now compared to last year, and plan to spend more time on platforms such as Youtube, Linkedin, and TikTok. However, the survey also found that about half of journalists considered leaving Twitter, with only 28% saying they plan to spend less time on the platform. The margin of error for the survey was +/- 2.4%.
