BUSINESSREVIEW Forthesixmonthsended30September2023(the“PeriodunderReview”),theHongKongandglobaleconomiesenteredaperiodofrecovery,withthebusinessenvironmentandconsumersentimentcontinuingtoimprove.AccordingtothevisitorarrivalstatisticsreleasedbytheHongKongTourismBoard,visitorarrivalsfrom1January2023to30September2023reachedmorethan 23.3million,nearlydoubledascomparedtotheninemonthsended30September2022.TheHongKongGovernmentcontinuedtoissueconsumptionvouchers(CVS)tostimulatetheretailmarketduringthePeriodunderReview.AccordingtotheCensusandStatisticsDepartment,thevalueoftotalretailsalesinHongKongforthefirstninemonthsofthisyearwasprovisionallyestimatedatHK$302,291millionasof30September2023,representingayear-on-yearincreaseof18.6%. DuringthePeriodunderReview,theGroupwascautiouslyoptimisticwiththerecoveryoftheretailmarket.Byswiftlyadjustingtheproductmixtocatertheneedsofdifferentcustomergroups,theGroupachievedasteadygrowthduringtheperiod.
