GENERALOVERVIEW Forthefirsthalfof2022,therewasasignificantfallingrossprofitoftheGroupwhichresultedfromadecreaseinthegrossproceedsfromoperationsandadropingrossprofitmarginandwasmainlyattributabletothesaleandleasingoftheproperties.UndertheimpactofthelockdownmeasuresimposedbythelocalgovernmentowingtothespreadingoftheCOVID-19inShanghai,thePeople’sRepublicofChina(“China”),thesegmentrevenueofthepropertydevelopmentandinvestmentbusinessreducedtoHK$287,331,000forthesixmonthsended30thJune,2022(2021:HK$371,774,000). Unlikethecaseinthecorrespondingperiodin2021,duringtheperiodunderreview,theGroupdidnotreceiveanydividendincomefromitslong-termequityinvestmentinShanghai(2021:HK$23,209,000)andtheGrouprecordedanetexchangelossofHK$13,530,000(2021:netgainofHK$4,297,000). Inaddition,therewasanetgainontradingsecuritiesinvestmentofHK$8,940,000fortheperiodunderreview(2021:HK$12,146,000). TherewasnochangeinfairvalueoftheinvestmentpropertiesinShanghaiandtheoperatingprofitbeforetaxationoftheGroupamountedtoHK$119,862,000fortheperiodunderreview(2021:HK$301,098,000excludingthelossonfairvaluechangesoftheinvestmentpropertiesofHK$3,470,000).AftertakingintoaccounttaxationofHK$76,306,000(2021:HK$163,580,000),theGroupreportedaconsolidatedprofitaftertaxationattributabletoshareholdersoftheCompanyofHK$31,346,000forthefirsthalfof2022,asignificantdecreaseofapproximately76.22%ascomparedwiththatofHK$131,832,000forthecorrespondingperiodof2021.Basicearningspersharewas1.59HKcents(2021:6.69HKcents). TheBoarddoesnotrecommendpaymentofaninterimdividendforthesixmonthsended30thJune,2022(interimdividendforthesixmonthsended30thJune,2021:Nil). OPERATIONSREVIEW TheGroupcontinuedtomaintainitsprincipalbaseofoperationsintheMainlandofChina,particularlyShanghai,fortheperiodunderreview. Forthefirstsixmonthsof2022,thepropertyinvestmentsegmentwastheprimaryprofitmakeroftheGroupandthiscontributedasegmentprofitofHK$80,732,000(2021:HK$75,260,000),whichwasattributabletotherentalandmanagementincomefromtheinvestmentpropertiesoftheGroupinShanghaiofChina. ThepropertydevelopmentandtradingsegmentreportedasegmentprofitofHK$37,995,000(2021:HK$164,680,000)whichwasattributabletothesaleofpropertiesinShanghai.ThissegmentwasthesecondaryprofitcontributoroftheGroup. 3TomsonGroupLimited汤臣集团有限公司 中期业绩 本公司董事局（“董事局”）谨呈报本公司及其附属公司（统称“本集团”）截至二零二二年六月三十日止六个月之未经审核简明综合财务报表，其详情载于本报告第35至第55页。董事局辖下之审核委员会已审阅简明综合财务报表。 概览 于二零二二年上半年，本集团经营收益总额减少及毛利率下跌，因而造成毛利大幅下降，此乃主要归因于物业销售及租赁之业绩。由于2019冠状病毒病在中华人民共和国（“中国”）上海市蔓延，在当地政府实施封控措施之影响下，物业发展及投资业务于截至二零二二年六月三十日止六个月之
