The technology providesobjective information to assist refereesand video match officials in determining offsidesituations The FIFA Quality Programme for Offside Technology establishes a globally recognised frameworkfor the evaluation and certification of such systems. Through independent on-field testing, theprogramme ensuresthat certified systems meet the highest standards of performance,reliability, and integrity, thereby contributing to the fairness of the game. This Test Manual defines the certification process, the test requirements, the test methods andthe data analysis for systems seeking certification under the FIFA Quality Programme for OffsideTechnology. 2.Certificationprocess Companies interested in certifying theirOffside Technologymust fulfil all requirements outlinedin theApplication Guide for the FIFA Quality Programme for Offside Technology. Product testing is conducted during FIFAtest events, with the organisation of the event-includingstadium and player arrangements-led by FIFA, and the testing itself coordinated by anapprovedindependenttest institute. In exceptional cases, providers may request to organise a separateevent under the supervision of anapprovedindependenttest institute; however, all costsandorganisationresponsibilitiesassociated withsuch an event must be borne by the provider.
