Advocacy Hub supports Streets for Life, a movement calling for low-speed, liveable streets for children, youth, and the planet. Low speeds save lives and promote public health, healthy lifestyles, and environmental sustainability. Liveable streets are crucial for responding to COVID-19, achieving the Global Goals, and addressing climate change. They also promote social and racial equity, accessibility, and the rights of vulnerable populations. Every day, 3000 children and young people are killed or seriously injured on the world's roads, emphasizing the urgent need for a focus on liveable streets and a maximum road travel speed of 30 km/h. The Stockholm Declaration, adopted by governments worldwide, calls for this approach.
