The public sector is facing a significant challenge in retaining its employees, with many leaving their jobs in search of a better lifestyle. The Trades Union Congress has warned that low pay, high workloads, and a lack of recognition are pushing public servants to the brink. A survey from HR consultancy Randstad found that 64% of public sector employees are feeling confident to move to a new job in the next couple of months, compared to 70% in the private sector. This trend is likely to continue, with many people suffering from burnout after the pandemic has prompted them to rethink their careers.
