Project Atlas is a data platform that aims to provide reliable and tailored data on decentralized finance (DeFi) markets. The platform ingests and processes on-chain data, and provides dashboards that display information on on-chain transactions, exchange-based cross-border flows, and on-chain and off-chain comparisons. The first proof of concept developed by the project partners, the Deutsche Bundesbank and De Nederlandsche Bank, focused on international flows of cryptoassets. The goal of Project Atlas is to shed light on the macroeconomic relevance of cryptoasset markets and DeFi, which are part of an emerging financial ecosystem that spans the globe. The lack of transparency in these markets and the potential risks they pose to financial stability have been highlighted by the collapse of some stablecoins and DeFi platforms.
