Food security and nutrition inequities in Sub-Saharan Africa are significant issues in the context of agricultural commercialisation. This narrative literature review examines the current state of the problem and provides insights into potential solutions. The review finds that agricultural commercialisation has the potential to improve food security and nutrition outcomes, but it also poses new challenges, such as the displacement of smallholder farmers and the concentration of land ownership. The review highlights the importance of addressing these challenges in order to ensure that the benefits of agricultural commercialisation are shared more equitably. The authors suggest that policies and interventions that promote inclusive agricultural growth, such as the promotion of smallholder farmers and the protection of their rights, are necessary to achieve this goal.
