DuringtheFY2023,especiallyinthefirstthreequartersoftheYear,theCompanyfacedchallengessteamedfromthefifthwaveoftheCOVID-19pandemicandstringentanti-epidemicprecautionarymeasuresimposed.Highbuildingmaterialsprices,difficultiesincross-borderlogistics,delayinconstructionprogressofseveralon-goingprojects,etc.,keptburdenedtheGroup’sprojectcostsandsloweddowntheGroup’sgrossprofitmarginrecovery. InordertomitigatetheadverseimpactsresultedfromCOVID-19pandemic,theCompanycontinuedtoplacestrongemphasisonprojects’workquality,safetyandcostcontrolenhancement.AlthoughtheGroupreportedanetlossofapproximatelyHK$8.1millionfortheYear,itsperformanceandgrossprofitmarginhavebeenimprovedascomparedtothatoftheyearended31March2022.Withtheanti-epidemicprecautionarymeasuresandrestrictionsbeingliftedbytheHongKonggovernmentinDecember2022,aswellasthenormalisationofcross-bordertransportbetweentheMainlandChinaandHongKong,theGroupiswithroomforbettercostcontrolandthusfurtherimprovementongrossprofitmargininthecomingyears.
