HOW TO USE THE 2026 GLOBAL CULTURE REPORT Understanding workplace cultures begins and ends with people—as employeesand leaders, as teams and organizations. And even though the workplace isextremely dynamic, we return to one question every year: What are the bestways to support, nurture, and engage people? This is what drives us. We hopethis report is helpful to you as you seek to better understand the same. To getthe most out of it, here are a few suggestions. First, the research contains insights you can act on. Some of our favoritesthis year include: •Innovation requires inspiration. Successful companies provide space andopportunity for employees to connect with visions of the future that createaspirational thinking.•A sense of community at work, cultivated by teams who practice interactionand inclusivity, improves work performance and the employee experience.•Employee recognition is as important as ever. Growth and innovation are thedirect results when people feel seen, heard, and valued. Next, identify areas where the data intersect with the needs and aspirationsof your organization. However, don’t be tempted to tackle everything atonce. Instead, focus on the principles you feel will make the greatest or mostimmediate impact on your people and business. Finally, remember every workplace culture is fluid and evolving. Even the bestones are testing, learning, and adapting. Progress, not perfection, is the goal, and every step that elevates the employee experience is progress. Thank you for joining us on the journey. As the architects and stewards of ourcultures, let’s use our influence to make them a place where everyone finds theinspiration, hope, and support to truly thrive. The question at handnow is, how can organizations move theirpeople toward a meaningful vision of thefuture when surrounded by uncertainty? The answers in this year’s report providea roadmap to help workers, leaders, andemployers achieve greater personal andprofessional outcomes together. And it allstarts with inspiration, a powerful sparkthat drives action, fosters inclusion, andcultivates success. Most organizations embrace the fact that to remain competitive, theymust continually evolve and grow. The problem is that the motivationsof senior leadership don’t always reach or move the workforce. Thisyear, our report offers a path forward that reignites employee passionand illuminates strategies to achieve goals. This year’s report begins with inspiration, a powerful force that arisesfrom meaningful interactions and stokes vision and engagement. Next, the active practice of hope capitalizes on inspiration while drawingon the support and guidance of teams and leaders. Taken together, inspiration and hope elevate the employee experience and positivelyimpact both cultural and business metrics. Our report continues by providing a new framework to helpemployees feel included in ways that are practical, sustainable, andscalable. It also explores the subject of healthy performance cultures, specifically highlighting what’s possible when high expectations arematched by the same level of support. Then, we take a closer look atthe topic of transparency in the workplace and how it can improvecommunication, empower leaders, and create space for feedbackand dialogue that ensures employees are seen, valued, and inspiredto contribute at a high level. And throughout, we examine howrecognition amplifies outcomes for both productivity and wellbeing. To gain these important insights, the O.C. Tanner Institute examinedthe perspectives of tens of thousands of employees, leaders, HRpractitioners, and business executives around the globe. According to our research, the challenges facing employees, bothon and off the clock, are more demanding than ever. And we feelprivileged to share our findings and a blueprint for organizations tospark inspiration, drive hope, and champion the power of inclusiveteams to achieve powerful and lasting outcomes. You could argue that employees arespinning more plates and have more onthose plates than ever. From the myriadtrials of employment to the daily economicand technological stressors of modernlife to the personal health and familychallenges every human endures, there’sno shortage of tasks and disruptions. Andthey take a large toll on people’s wellbeing. The simple truth is people don’t naturallyreturn to their jobs each day refreshedand ready to do their best work or movetheir organizations forward. We
