The McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) is a research arm of McKinsey & Company that aims to provide insights on the evolving global economy. Its research combines economics and management, using the analytical tools of economics with the insights of business leaders. MGI has published over 20 country and 30 industry reports, covering topics such as productivity and growth, natural resources, labor markets, global financial markets, technology and innovation, and urbanization. The current research focuses on six themes, including gender inequality, global competition, Chinese innovation, and digital globalization. MGI is led by four senior partners and a group of partners, and project teams are led by senior fellows and consultants from McKinsey's global network.
