The McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) is a research arm of McKinsey & Company that aims to provide insights into the global economy. Since its founding in 1990, MGI has focused on understanding trends and forces shaping the economy through a combination of economics and management research. The organization has covered over 20 countries and 30 industries, and its recent reports have focused on six themes: productivity and growth, natural resources, labor markets, the evolution of global financial markets, the economic impact of technology and innovation, and urbanization. MGI is led by three senior partners and a group of partners and senior fellows.
