The McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) is a research arm of McKinsey & Company that aims to understand trends and forces shaping the global economy. MGI's research combines economics and management, using a "micro-to-macro" methodology to examine microeconomic industry trends and understand broad macroeconomic forces affecting business strategy and public policy. The organization focuses on six themes: productivity and growth, natural resources, labor markets, global financial markets, technology and innovation, and urbanization. MGI is led by three senior partners and project teams are led by MGI partners and a group of senior fellows.
