The British Council's 2017 edition of "Languages for the Future" updates their 2013 edition. The report was commissioned by the British Council and prepared by Teresa Tinsley and Kathryn Board of Alcantara Communications. Tinsley is a linguist with over 30 years of experience in languages education, and has led CILT's information, research, and publications activities. She established the "Language Trends" series of reports and produced statistics and policy developments published as Languages Yearbooks from 1995 to 2007. Board was the Chief Executive of CILT from 2008 and has worked with specialists and educational institutions to provide advice on educational policy and initiatives to increase language learning across the UK. Alcantara Communications provides expertise to national and international organizations.
