The report suggests a comprehensive approach to CO2 emissions reduction that includes reducing unnecessary kilometers driven through Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and infrastructure design, alongside continuing innovations in vehicle technology. The adoption of alternative lower carbon fuels and powertrains will be key to meeting the 2020 target of 95g of CO2 per kilometer.
