ACEA proposes an ambitious timeframe for Euro 7, with ambitious criteria for pollutant emission limits and fixed test procedures as its three cornerstones. The proposal is presented as an integral package, with one element not being able to be taken without the others. Industry has consistently called for a minimum of four years lead-time from when the complete package is known, and from then would industry know the challenge for compliance. ACEA requests a balanced approach to Euro 7 that allows industry to focus on decarbonisation. The regulatory process needs to be completed in a timely manner to allow industry to plan and make necessary engineering changes to future new vehicles.
