The European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) has commissioned a report to examine the social impacts of shared mobility. The report provides recommendations on how to capture the social benefits of shared mobility and deliver them through collaboration of public and private actors in the system. The report focuses on newer forms of shared mobility such as pooled ride-hailing, e-scooters, and car-sharing, and their role and impacts need to be understood alongside existing mobility options. The report suggests that new forms of shared mobility will most likely form part of a new blend of mobility for users and that they should be treated fairly in terms of regulation and support. The report also highlights the diversity of shared mobility innovations being developed.
