Arthur D. Little's sixth executive roundtable on "Digitalization" focused on the implementation of technology-hype topics such as AI, RPA, and blockchain in different industry contexts. The discussions revealed that certain AI and RPA applications have reached "ready-to-use" maturity and are almost standard in some industries, while blockchain has disruption potential in almost every application area but still needs to be proven in real life outside the financial industry. The group also discussed the maturity levels of different AI technologies and how they can transform industries. The AI Technology Maturity Tracker was introduced as an example, showing how some forms of AI are already about to transform industries and could make many of today's heavy investments in existing technology and IT obsolete within months.
