The healthcare industry has great potential for digitalization initiatives, with increasing investments in solutions such as electronic document management, image recognition, and risk analysis. However, the potential has not been fully exploited and there is a lack of integrated platforms. Virtual reality training programs and digital service channels along the entire treatment process are available, but no integrated patient journey from doctor to insurance is currently available. To fully embrace digitalization, the industry should take advantage of technology impulses, gather experiences with pilot projects in process automation, and involve stakeholders more closely.
