Energy and utilities companies need to view sustainability as an opportunity. Organizations are realizing benefits from sustainability, such as increased revenues and improved ESG ratings. However, they lack the pace and scale of execution to meet the expectations on sustainability. Maturity of sustainability practices is low, with only a small percentage of organizations having mature social responsibility practices and setting and meeting Paris Agreement targets. The extent to which organizations have achieved scale with tech-related use cases is low. Energy and utilities organizations can transform and prepare for the future by embracing sustainability and setting bold ambitions for sustainability.
