The Greater Bay Area (GBA) presents significant opportunities for Hong Kong to leverage its unique advantages and become a major economic powerhouse. However, it is crucial that the HKSAR Government takes action to ensure the city benefits from the initiative and does not fall behind. ACCA recommends that the GBA member cities work together in cooperation, rather than competition, to create synergies and drive the region's economic growth. Hong Kong should strengthen its competitive advantages as a leading financial and commercial center in Asia Pacific by attracting overseas talent, granting tax incentives, and providing a business enabling environment. Additionally, the city should diversify its economic structure by encouraging the development of new industries such as the innovation and technology industry. By pursuing these objectives, Hong Kong will have a better chance of capitalizing on the significant opportunities arising from the development of the GBA.
