OVERVIEW 2023continuestobeachallengingyearacrossmanyindustries,includingourown.Iampleasedtoreportthatourbusinesscontinuedtodemonstrateagreatdegreeofagilityandresilienceduringtheatypicaltimesin2023. Financially,2023wasstilladifficultyearwhichrecordedlossesofHK$23.6millionforthePeriod.TheunfavourableimpactoftheCOVID-19situationcontinuedthatperformanceinrelationtoouroperationshadbeenadverselyaffected. DespiteallthehardshipsandchallengesposedbytheCOVID-19situation,weremainedcommittedtodeliveringqualityhealthcareservicesandplacingthewell-beingofourresidentsattheforefront.Withourperseverance,Iampleasedtoreportthatourcorebusinessofour8EA1(Note)residentialcarehomesfortheelderly(“RCHEs”)remainsstrongwithanaverageoccupancyrateof90.9%comparedto88.9%forthesameperiodlastyear,whiletheoccupancyofourSilverageCollection(comprisingPineCarePlaceinYohoMall,YuenLong;andPineCarePointinShekKipMei)alsorecordedadouble-digitincrementof10.0percentagepoints,reachinganaverageoccupancyof78.0%duringtheperiodunderreview.
