The CMO Council's research initiative on the impact of connectedness on competitiveness explores the business value created by the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The initiative engages with manufacturers, plant operators, infrastructure managers, transportation providers, and others to identify best practices and successes in building and using IIoT applications and benchmark the degree to which smart operational management is enabling new business models, reducing risk, maximizing uptime, safety, comfort, and output, as well as furthering efficiencies and cost reductions. The goal of the initiative is to substantiate the premise that enterprise connectedness with and among strategic audiences can impact a company's ability to compete more effectively and produce greater business value.
