This was why EY set up a service framework with thestructure of “Six Connects” in the GBA. Focusing onsix major areas – finance, technology, health care,infrastructure, talent and ESG, the framework providesdiversified professional services to support the 11 GBAcities in achieving interconnectivity and high-qualityintegrated development. During his inspection trip to Guangdong Province inApril 2023, President Xi explicitly pointed out that thegoal is to “make the GBA a strategic fulcrum in ournew development framework, a demonstration zone ofhigh-quality growth, and a pacesetter of Chinese-stylemodernization.” This reflects the country’s strategicpositioning of the GBA in terms of industrial system,scientific and technological innovation, opening-up andregional development, as well as the higher goals andrequirements the China has for the GBA development.
