WhatistheGPCI?1 WhatistheGPCI? 世界の都市総合力ランキングとは G iventheglobalcompetitionbetweencities,theGlobalPowerCityIndex (GPCI)evaluatesandranksthemajorcitiesoftheworldaccordingtotheir“magnetism,”ortheircomprehensivepowertoattractpeople,capital,andenterprisesfromaroundtheworld.Itdoessothroughmeasuring6functions—Economy,ResearchandDevelopment,CulturalInteraction,Livability,Environment,andAccessibility—providingamultidimensionalranking. OriginallyformulatedwithinputfromthelateSirPeterHall,anauthorityintheurbanresearchfield,andpublishedannuallysince2008,thisrankingiscreatedunderthedirectionoftheExecutiveCommittee,comprisedofvariousexpertsindifferentfields,whiletheWorkingCommitteeoverseesconcretedataanalysis.Inordertoensuretheimpartiality oftherankingprocessandresults,twothird-partypeerreviewersvalidatethecontentsandprovidesuggestionsforimprovement.
