Introduction Purpose:The "Offshore Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage Forum" (OCCUS) is an annualacademic event focusing on the multidisciplinary integration of the OCCUS field. Its purpose is to deeplyexplore the strategic layout of OCCUS and its path of harmonious progress with the Blue Economy, unearthdiscoveries in basic science and innovative methods in engineering technology practices, promote qualityimprovement, cost reduction, and scale expansion of industrial technology applications, and foster thesynergistic development of industrial integration and technological innovation. The forum aims to build ahigh-level information exchange platform for OCCUS, integrating industry, academia, research, finance, service, and application for domestic and international research institutions, enterprises, and scholars. Itserves to share cutting-edge achievements and valuable experiences, jointly address the challenges andopportunities in OCCUS development, and subsequently enhance our nation's offshore carbon sink potentialand the overall coordinated development level of land-sea resources, ecology, industry, and space. History:The forum has been successfully held for five years since 2021 in Xiamen, with its scale andinfluence growing annually. The first forum (online) attracted over 150 concurrent online participants, withtotal participation exceeding two thousand. The second (online) forum saw a significant expansion in scale, with concurrent online participants surpassing 300 and total participation exceeding ten thousand, fullydemonstrating its vigorous vitality. The third forum transitioned to an offline format, gathering over 180industry elites and presenting more than 80 high-level academic reports, yielding fruitful exchanges. By thefourth forum, it moved beyond Xiamen for the first time to Hangzhou, reaching a new high in attendancewith over 200 experts and scholars gathering for an unprecedented event. The fifth forum arrived in thebeautiful city of Qingdao. This session received over 140 report abstracts, and nearly 300 experts from over120 universities, research institutes, and enterprises gathered to participate in this grand event. As the forumhas progressed, the depth and breadth of its interdisciplinary integration have continuously expanded, powerfully promoting the unification of knowledge systems and breakthroughs at the scientific frontier. Ithas actively pushed for the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial practice, injecting acontinuous stream of intellectual momentum into China's low-carbon transition. After five years ofdedicated effort, and with the joint endeavors of academia, industry, and finance, the OCCUS forum hasgrown into a prominent calling card and a key driving force for the development of low-carbon industriesalong China's rivers, lakes, and coastal regions. Innovation:Since its inception, the Offshore CarbonCapture, Utilization, and Storage (OCCUS) Forumhas been committed to building an international, open exchange platform that is primarily in Chinese, supplemented by English. The forum closely aligns with national strategies for ecological civilizationconstruction and coordinated land-sea development. It actively addresses the challenges ofCO2emissionreduction in coastal and offshore areas and scientifically plans the layout of the OCCUS industry, aiming topromote a new pattern of low-carbon marine development characterized by land-sea integration andharmonious coexistence between humanityand nature. Successive forums have continuously focused on exploring OCCUS industry economic developmentmodels and new quality productive forces, as well as frontier topics such as: offshore carbon capture, utilization, and transportation (from basic research to industrial application); marine geological carbonsequestration theory, technology, and site selection evaluation; OCCUS environmental impact assessment, monitoring, and regulation; and OCCUS standards, policies, regulations, and international cooperation.Through high-quality academic exchange, the forum injects momentum into technological innovation, supports the development of low-carbon industries, and serves the realization of the national "Dual Carbon"goals. Building on the success of the first four sessions, the fifth forum further optimized its bilingualcommunication mechanism, continuing the model of presentations primarily in Chinese supplemented byEnglish. It also adopted an innovative "online-offline fusion with full live-streaming of the opening ceremony" format for the first time, breaking spatio-temporal constraints and expanding the forum's reach. This session maintained its highly interdisciplinary nature, focusing on the deep integration of scientificresearch and industrial practice. It featured diverse segments, including an OCCUS Salon, KeynotePresentations, Special Topics, Poster Sessions, Technical Exhibitions, and a Summary Report, systematicallypresenting a panorama of synergistic
