THIRDQUARTERLYREPORT 第三季度业绩报告 CHARACTERISTICSOFGEMOFTHESTOCKEXCHANGEOFHONGKONGLIMITED(THE“STOCKEXCHANGE”) GEMhasbeenpositionedasamarketdesignedtoaccommodatesmallandmid-sizedcompaniestowhichahigherinvestmentriskmaybeattachedthanothercompanieslistedontheStockExchange.Prospectiveinvestorsshouldbeawareofthepotentialrisksofinvestinginsuchcompaniesandshouldmakethedecisiontoinvestonlyafterdueandcarefulconsideration. GiventhatthecompanieslistedonGEMaregenerallysmallandmid-sizedcompanies,thereisariskthatsecuritiestradedonGEMmaybemoresusceptibletohighmarketvolatilitythansecuritiestradedontheMainBoardoftheStockExchangeandnoassuranceisgiventhattherewillbealiquidmarketinthesecuritiestradedonGEM.
