The McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) is a business and economics research arm of McKinsey & Company, which aims to provide insights on management and policy decisions for leaders in various sectors. MGI research combines economics and management, using the analytical tools of economics with insights from business leaders. MGI has covered more than 20 countries and 30 industries, and its reports are not commissioned by any business, government, or other institution. In recent years, McKinsey has focused on researching and writing about gender and diversity, including a report with LeanIn.Org on women in the workplace.
