The McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) is a research arm of McKinsey & Company that aims to provide insights on global economy to leaders in various sectors. MGI's research combines economics and management, using a "micro-to-macro" methodology to examine industry trends and macroeconomic forces. The current research focuses on six themes: productivity and growth, natural resources, labor markets, global financial markets, technology and innovation, and urbanization. MGI has published reports on various topics, including gender inequality, global competition, Chinese innovation, and digital globalization. The organization is led by four senior partners and a group of partners, and project teams are led by senior fellows and consultants from McKinsey's global offices.
