The McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) is a research arm of McKinsey & Company that aims to provide insights and information to leaders in various sectors. MGI uses a "micro-to-macro" methodology to examine industry trends and understand the broader economic forces affecting business and public policy. The organization has covered over 20 countries and 30 industries, and its current research focuses on six themes: productivity and growth, natural resources, labor markets, global financial markets, technology and innovation, and urbanization. MGI is led by four senior partners and a chairman, and its project teams include consultants from McKinsey's global network.
