The European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) annually produces a Pocket Guide to provide an overview of the automobile industry in Europe. In 2013, around 13.6 million new cars, vans, trucks, and buses were registered in the EU, with sales gradually improving as the European economy recovers. ACEA predicts that sales will continue to recover over the next few years. As a cornerstone of Europe's economy, ACEA is contributing constructively to discussions with policymakers and stakeholders to strengthen the global competitiveness of the automobile sector and support the EU's industrial renaissance. The right policy environment, based on driving innovation, fostering growth through international trade, and building a supportive and smart regulatory framework, is necessary to achieve this.
