The ACEA Paper "High Capacity Transport" presents a solution to accommodate the projected growth in freight transport demand in the European Union. A High Capacity Transport (HCT) system would allow high-capacity vehicles to use dedicated parts of the EU road network, which would be more efficient and productive than regular heavy-goods vehicles. The HCT system would also help decarbonize road freight transport and save infrastructure costs.
