The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) has been collecting data on entrepreneurship since 1999, providing insights on entrepreneurial patterns across participating economies. Each year, GEM countries use the data to compile national reports and make recommendations for improving the levels of entrepreneurial activities and stimulating small and medium-sized enterprise (SMME) development. For the first time, GEM has put together a series of policy briefs highlighting initiatives in select countries that have had a positive impact on entrepreneurship. The goal is for other countries to learn from these initiatives and adapt them to their own environment. This document is the first in the series, showcasing initiatives that are working to improve the lives of entrepreneurs worldwide.
