The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has issued a notification regarding the extension of the deadline for the application of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on exports of certain electronic products. The notification, which was published in the Extraordinary Part II Section 3 Sub-section (ii) of the Gazette of India on October 1, 2020, extends the deadline for the application of GST on exports of certain electronic products, including web cameras, digital still cameras, and digital video cameras, until March 31, 2021. The notification also provides for the extension of the deadline for the application of GST on exports of certain other electronic products, including smart meters and LED products, until December 31, 2020. The notification is issued in accordance with the provisions of the Indian Standard Classification of Goods (2012) and the Indian Standards (IS) 13252:2010 and IS 616:2017.
