Article2 SecuringProtectionthroughInternationalRegistration (1)WhereanapplicationfortheregistrationofamarkhasbeenfiledwiththeOfficeofaContractingParty,orwhereamarkhasbeenregisteredintheregisteroftheOfficeofaContractingParty,thepersoninwhosenamethatapplication(hereinafterreferredtoas“thebasicapplication”)orthatregistration(hereinafterreferredtoas“thebasicregistration”)standsmay,subjecttotheprovisionsofthisProtocol,secureprotectionforhismarkintheterritoryoftheContractingParties,byobtainingtheregistrationofthatmarkintheregisteroftheInternationalBureauoftheWorldIntellectualPropertyOrganization(hereinafterreferredtoas“theinternationalregistration,”“theInternationalRegister,”“theInternationalBureau”and“theOrganization,”respectively),providedthat, (i)wherethebasicapplicationhasbeenfiledwiththeOfficeofaContractingStateorwherethebasicregistr
