The IPCC's Sixth Assessment Report Synthesis Report summarizes the state of knowledge on climate change, its impacts and risks, and mitigation and adaptation strategies. It is based on peer-reviewed scientific, technical, and socio-economic literature since the publication of the IPCC's Fifth Assessment Report in 2014. The report reflects the evolving international landscape, including the outcomes of the Kyoto Protocol and the adoption of the Paris Agreement. It integrates the main findings of the AR6 Working Group reports and the three AR6 Special Reports. The report recognizes the interdependence of climate, ecosystems, and biodiversity, and human societies, and the close linkages between climate change adaptation, mitigation, ecosystem health, human well-being, and sustainable development. It identifies opportunities for transformative action to address climate change.
