This report by the UC Berkeley Labor Center examines health care affordability concerns for California workers, consumers, and employers. The study found that health care affordability concerns are more common than housing affordability concerns, with 69% of adults ages 18-64 being very or somewhat worried about affording health care. This concern is particularly prevalent among Hispanic, Black, and Asian adults, with higher percentages of these groups expressing worry than white adults. Additionally, the study found that health care affordability concerns are more common among adults with income at or below two times the poverty level. The report highlights the need for policies that address the rising cost of health care and ensure that it remains affordable for all Californians.
