The BrandFinance® Top 30 Australian brands is a comprehensive ranking of the published brand values in Australia, released annually and incorporating data from all listed companies in the country. Each brand is evaluated based on its brand rating, which measures the strength, risk, and future potential of the brand relative to its competitors, and its brand value, which summarizes the financial strength of the brand. Despite the difficult economic conditions, the top brands in Australia only lost 1% of their value in the last year, with some winners and losers. MLC, Harvey Norman, and David Jones lost over 20% of their brand value, while Coles, ANZ, and Telstra added more than $200 million in value. The report highlights the importance of understanding brand equity and brand value in making strategic decisions.
