The Atradius Payment Practices Barometer for Spring 2017 in Belgium shows a modest increase in the use of credit-based transactions, with 31.8% of B2B sales being transacted on credit. This is a slight increase from the 29% registered in the 2016 survey. The proportion of sales to domestic B2B customers and foreign B2B customers on credit terms is almost uniform at 32.6% and 31%, respectively. Respondents in Belgium are less inclined to sell on credit terms compared to their peers in Western Europe. Belgium has a conservative payment culture, prioritizing cash over other methods of payment. The uncollectable rate is 0.9%, with 58% of payments being made on time and 42% being past due.
