The Atradius Payment Practices Barometer for September 2018 found that businesses in Eastern Europe reported fewer late payments, but still felt the impact of payment delays. 18.1% of respondents reported postponing payments to suppliers and 14.1% experienced revenue loss. The proportion of uncollectable B2B receivables is stable and bankruptcy remains the main reason for write-offs. The proportion of B2B credit sales in the region decreased from an average of 40.3% in 2017 to 36.9% this year, mainly due to a decrease in Hungary and minor decreases in Turkey and the Czech Republic. Respondents in Hungary remain the most inclined to offer credit terms, while those in Romania seem to be the least inclined. Domestic credit terms are more likely to be granted to domestic B2B customers than to B2B customers abroad.
