This survey of 1,199 American parents and caregivers aged 18 to 80 aimed to understand their attitudes and behaviors related to feeding children ages 2-10. The findings showed that parents and caregivers have a good understanding of current dietary recommendations for this age group, but there is still room for improvement in terms of their knowledge and understanding. Behaviors associated with feeding this age group include using a variety of food sources, following the child's preferences, and involving the child in meal planning. Sources of information when making dietary decisions include healthcare providers, online resources, and family and friends. Purchasing habits when shopping for food were also explored, with a focus on convenience and affordability. The study was supported by funding from Abbott.
