This report assesses the cost and performance of grid energy storage technologies in 2020. The study was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy's Research Technology Investment Committee (RTIC) and was conducted by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Mustang Prairie Energy. The report is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of energy storage technologies and their potential for future deployment. The study found that the cost of energy storage technologies has decreased significantly over the past decade, but there is still room for further improvement in terms of performance and efficiency. The report also highlights the importance of considering the environmental and social impacts of energy storage technologies when making deployment decisions.
