CWAcountrieshaveamixofpublicandprivatehealthservicesthatarecurative-orientedandlesseffective.Physicalaccesstohealthfacilitiesisgenerallysatisfactory,butthehospitalbedstopopulationratioisverylowinAfghanistanandPakistanandbeingreducedfurtherinseveralformerSovietUnioncountries.Therange,quality,andaffordabilityofhealthservicesarelesssatisfactoryintheregion,withsubstandardfacilities,lackofskilledstaffandmedicines,bypassingofhealthservices,andhighout-of-pocket(OOP)payment.4 CWAcountriesareconductingwide-rangingsectorref
