The US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has the opportunity to support health sector investments and demonstrate global leadership. Despite a mixed record in the sector, DFC is well-positioned to help strengthen pandemic preparedness and expand equitable access to health innovations in low- and middle-income countries. The paper explores three high-impact engagement opportunities for DFC in the health sector, including regional manufacturing hubs for health supplies, R&D incentives for biotechnology, and robust supply chains for health-adjacent services and delivery models. Key principles to guide future DFC health sector investments are outlined.
