INDUSTRYREVIEW “ContinuingDeclineinMagnesiumPrices,MagnesiumEnterprisesunderPressure” In2022,China’smagnesiumingotmarketsawadownturnafterexperiencingahistorichighin2021.Theaveragepriceofmagnesiumingotin2022wasRMB30,686/ton,ayear-on-yearincreaseof19.88%.TheYear’shighestpricewasRMB51,500/toninJanuary,whilethelowestpricewasRMB21,500/toninDecember.Thepriceofmagnesiumin2022enteredadownwardtrendafterexperiencingasharprisein2021.Bytheendof2022,themagnesiumpricehadfallenbacktothelevelofAugust2021,reachingitslowestvaluein17months.Downstreamprocessingcompaniesandtraderswerecautiousaboutplacingordersandmainlyadoptedawait-and-seeapproach.Userpurchaseswerealsomainlyforsmallamountsofurgentneeds.Inaddition,thegeopoliticaltensionsaffectingenergysupplyinChinaandabroad,togetherwithChina’sstrictepidemicpreventionandcontrolmeasures,limitedtheproductionandlogisticsofcompanies.Itexacerbatedthepressureondownstreamproductioncostsandweakeneddemandformagnesiumrawmaterialsdomesticallyandinternationally. Despitetheongoingdeclineinmagnesiumprices,theproductioncostsofmagnesiumremainedhigh,puttingpressureontheprofitsofmagnesiumproductionenterprises.DuetothecontinuousimprovementofChina’senvironmentalprotectionlegalsystemandthestrengtheningofenvironmentalprotectioninspections,companieshaveincreasedtheirinvestmentinenvironmentalprotectionupgrades.Coupledwiththeriseinrawmaterialcosts,thetotalcostofproductioncontinuedtorise.Thecurrentdemandhasnotsignificantlyimprovedasthemagnesiumpriceapproachesthecostline.However,magnesiumpricesareexpectedtobesupportedbycostfactorsandrigiddemandinthemarket.Themarketexpectsthatimprovingeconomicconditionscouldbringnewpositivedevelopmentstothemagnesiumindustry. 4 RareEarthMagnesiumTechnologyGroupHoldingsLimitedAnnualReport2022 稀镁科技集团控股有限公司 5 2022周年报告 主席报告（续） CHAIRMAN’SSTATEMENT(CONTINUED) “汽车轻量化大势所趋” 二零二三年一月十日，乘联会发布的乘用车市场分析报告显示，“二零二二年十二月国内新能源乘用车零售销量达64万辆，同比增长35.1%，保持趋势性上升走势；全年新能源乘用车零售567.4万辆，同比增长90.0%。预计二零二三年新能源乘用车销量850万辆，渗透率将由二零二
