Salesofmaterialsbusiness Since2017,theGroupcommencedthesalesofmaterialsbusinessinthePRC,thematerialsmainlyincludealuminum,steelproducts,timberlogs,basemetals,etc.,whichareprimarilyusedattheearlystagesofconstructionprojectsorformanufacturingofbuildingorsurfacingmaterials. ThebusinessprovidedsteadyincomefortheGroupuntilitexperiencedadownturnin2019and2020.Torefineitsbusiness,theGroupestablishedwarehousesinthePRCinearly2021withinventorymanagementtoprovideproductsreadilyavailableforitscustomers.ThewarehousesareincloseproximitytomajorportsanditscustomersandsuppliersinthePRC,whichmay(i)allowtheGrouptorespondtocustomers’ordersinatimelymanner;and(ii)provideinventorymanagementservicestocustomers,suchasprocurement,inventorystorageanddelivery. Inlate2020,theGroupstartedtoexpanditscustomerbasetointernationalaluminumproductsmanufacturersbyleveragingitsfoundationinsourcingaluminumingots. Duringthesixmonthsended30June2022(the“Period”),theGroupdidnotgenerateanyrevenuefromsalesofmaterials(sixmonthsended30June2021(the“PreviousPeriod”):HK$226.5million). TheGroupexperiencedatemporarydownturnofitsprincipalbusinessasaresultofanumberofforcemajeurefactorscausingtheabnormalandsignificantpricefluctuationinaluminumrelatedproductsofnearly100%withinashorttimespanthatisbeyondthecontroloftheGroup,includingth
