This report explores the current adoption and future potential of smart home devices among consumers. The research objective is to determine who the current adopters are and how they integrate these devices into their daily lives, as well as to identify the barriers and triggers to usage. The report also aims to understand the awareness and purchase intent of various smart home devices, such as smart appliances and smoke detectors. The study found that smart home devices with the highest year-over-year growth are smart refrigerators and smoke detectors, with 267% and 250% growth respectively. The report suggests that brands in the smart home space can encourage more adopters by addressing the barriers to usage and leveraging messaging and tactics that resonate with consumers.
