ABN AMRO Ventures, the corporate venture fund of ABN AMRO, has released its Q1 2022 report on the global fintech market. The report highlights that fintech funding has slightly slowed, with $32.4B raised globally in Q1 2022, down 10% from the all-time high in Q3 2021. However, the number of fintech unicorns has increased to 473 globally, with 40 new additions in Q1 2022, 8 less than the previous quarter. The report also notes that crypto startups have raised $7.0B in Q1 2022, making it the most invested sector in fintech, but the value of exits has fallen. ABN AMRO Ventures actively provides knowledge and expertise, access to the bank and its systems, support from relevant specialists inside and outside ABN AMRO, as well as an extensive external network to its portfolio companies.
